Fresh Rust Belt dream pop project Dream Dream combines smoky wistful guitars, dancing hollow synths, and groovy drums to create a sound that is vibey and melancholic. Sonic arrangements are grounded in spacious minimalism with dynamic range that also swell and soar with cacophonous finality.
Buffalo, New York's Dream Dream is a studio project consisting of Justin Smith and Matt Cosmann (Aircraft), and Mike Santillo (The Tins). The trio was formed during the early shutdown days of the pandemic. With time on their hands and a creative spark that needed focus, the three met at Mammoth Recording Studio, owned and operated by Smith and Santillo, to actualize their inner songs.
Dream Dream will release their debut double-single, Chill Vibes // Blissin', on October 15th 2021, with Buffalo indie label Admirable Traits Records. "Chill Vibes" is a personal song that reflects on the back and forth repeating cycle of a dysfunctional relationship, while also expressing the emptiness felt by the absence of that untenable love. "Blissin'" is a nostalgic confessional harkening back to the emotionally dissociated years of one's youth, reckoning with one’s past unkindness, an admission that is all but apologetic.
