Koko Neetz

Koko Neetz is an emerging existential pop act out of the Buffalo. Featuring two members from the baroque pop outfit dreambeaches, Koko Neetz centers around a more laid-back autumn vibe to dreambeaches' summer feel. Incorporating elements of indie folk, jazz and bedroom pop, Koko Neetz debut EP via Admirable Traits Records is buzzing as a late 2019 release to cap off the decade.

Koko Neetz gets its name from founding member and songwriter Andrew Kothen’s family jibberish meaning ‘something like innocence and fragility’, and the music serves as a place for surreal love songs to coexist unapologetically with some sardonic conclusions on the meaning of life as we know it. Sonically, I.T.T.I.P.  the listener down a psychedelic lazy river that breezes on by to a swift sunrise.

Influences to the project include Chet Baker, George Gershwin, Mid Air Thief, Iron & Wine, Father John Misty, Elliot Smith, Bon Iver, Velvet Underground/Lou Reed, Big Thief, Still Woozy, Andy Shauf, Grizzly Bear, Fleet Foxes, Crosby, Stills Nash, The Beatles, Four Tet, Aphex Twin, and Buck Meek
